Hi,
I wanted to show you a little bit about why we produced our summer season checking out program.
For me, it was since of my students.
For many years of mentor in my personal learning center, parents would bring their kids to me that lagged in reading and spelling.

In some cases they were just a little bit behind, in some cases they were method behind, and in some cases they were at grade level and simply wished to advance faster.
Sometimes this was because the students had finding out difficulties like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was merely since the instructors did not teach all of the specific abilities needed to read.
There is a science-proven, step-by-step manner in which all kids can prosper with reading. But, sadly, teachers themselves often are not taught how to teach kids in this way.

The issue was that I was only able to see them for an hour at a time and just twice a week.
How could I get these trainees' skills up while not just providing a band-aid service?
Conventional tutors often simply deal with homework. Unfortunately, this does not deal with the origin of students' difficulties and does not actually get their skills up.
So, I went to the research study and what I gained from my coaches in my early years of teaching.
I found that short activities often produce better outcomes than long labored work.
I discovered that teaching in a methodical and structured way to target each location of reading and spelling worked.

I discovered that short daily fluency practice helps all students check out quicker, more properly, and naturally improves their understanding abilities.
I found that using graphic organizers helps trainees find the essence and information, series events, and organize their ideas to enhance their comprehension. Trainees could finally understand and imagine what they read.
I found that the majority of words in English follow 8 specific spelling patterns and when you discover the patterns, spelling ends up being simpler and spelling lastly makes good sense.
I discovered that brain-body activities enhance neuroplasticity and translate to making discovering easier in all locations.
I discovered that executive function abilities were frequently not taught in school. These skills are so important, not simply with preparing for school jobs but in life.

I found that teaching through our senses (hearing, seeing, and doing) enhanced their reading and spelling skills much faster. It did not matter if they had discovering difficulties or if they were just simply wanting to advance quicker.
I put together a program of these findings into short 5-20 minute day-to-day activities that I could do with my students.
It wasn't long before my students and parents started seeing tremendous results. Trainees that were behind by 1-2 years frequently got up to grade level in 2-4 months.
Teachers started to ask what I was doing with these kids. Parents needed to know what the magic sauce was.
I understood I needed to make my program offered to more trainees no matter where they live. I needed to make the program in a way that moms and dads can do it with their kids on their schedule in your home.
This is why I developed the summer season reading program.
